Marvel have announced that Bradley Cooper will voice Rocket Raccoon. This isn’t a good fit in my opinion. As a Brit reading Guardians of the Galaxy I had a voice eerily similar to the the one used in the excellent and devastatingly short lived The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Read the rest of this entry
Us nerds are actually very social creatures, as long as we’re in the right environment. Checkpoint Gaming Lounge is aiming to create that environment. You can sit back, chat about games – getting excited about next weeks releases over a beer, and the best part – everyone else is going to nerd out with you. Or you could get some lunch with your mates while hammering out Mileena’s fatality against your nemesis who’s beat your face in more times than you can count, BUT NOT THIS TIME! Fans of the Soska Sisters will be pleased to hear that they’re set to direct the comic book adaptation of ‘Painkiller Jane’. This is certainly great news for us here at Nerdarena, being huge fans of the Soska sisters they’re an excellent choice to bring this female heroine to life.

Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his apartment today in New York City.
Anyone with a passion for film will take this one hard. He was such a fantastic character actor that had so much left to give. He will be remembered for his outstanding roles in Capote, Doubt, The Big Lewbowski and of course, most recently, The Master.
Our condolences go to his friends and family.
The new year is underway and is settling in nicely. Us Nerds have already failed our health kicks because, you know, food and booze are tasty. Our saving plans went out the window what with the January sales…London Comic Con coming up…The Wolverine and Pacific Rim came out on Blu-ray…I couldn’t NOT buy the Back to the Future Lego set could I…Xbox and Steam had some good sales…And none of us have the inclination to learn a foreign language other than Klingon.
So we thought we would focus on something more achievable. Something closer to our skill set. Something Nerdy. We would set some NERD Years Resolutions. Read the rest of this entry
