Rest In Peace Robin Williams

I remember when I was younger and a friend and I had ourselves a Robin Williams double feature watching Aladdin and Ferngully. We were probably eleven years old and we recited every, single line Robin Williams uttered*. Every word, every inflection. His performances were ingrained in our tiny heads.

Williams passed away earlier today at the age of 63.

If your Facebook or Twitter feeds are anything like mine the news dominated everyone’s thoughts. He was an immensely likable and talented performer. He was known for his whirlwind comedic roles but was able to reign all that in and deliver performances that stand with any of the greats.

I’ve included his classic monologue from Good Will Hunting, which to this day makes me well up.

He will be sorely, sorely missed.

*No doubt to the chargrin of his mum.
